Thank you! xx
This week, I’d like to share a practice that has played a large part in me rebuilding my life: writing.
You see the thing is, writing isn’t just for writers!
Journaling and writing have been a cornerstone in my healing journey, giving me clarity, helping me to process my emotions and figure out how I was feeling, and it’s also been a tangible record of my progress that I can refer back to.
Here’s how writing can be a healing tool for you too.
Mind: Thoughts That Inspire
"I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn." – Anne Frank
“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.” - Flannery O’Connor
A Quote:
Anne Frank’s words resonate so deeply with me. Writing really does have the power to lighten our burdens and reignite our courage. It helps us to find our inner strength and it can help us to reach our subconscious thoughts if we let it.
Flannery O’Connor’s quote is one of my favourites. Writing isn’t just about expression, it’s a tool for discovery. When I first read that quote, I realised why journaling was so helpful.
Through writing, I often uncover thoughts and emotions I didn’t even realise I had. It’s like a conversation with my own soul.
What I’m Learning:
Journaling helps externalise our thoughts, making it easier to process change and challenges and to track our progress.
It’s a safe space to explore emotions, set intentions, and reflect on experiences. No one else has to ever read what you write. It’s something you do, just for you.
However, sharing our writing can also inspire and support others on their journeys if we choose to do that.
Body: Practices That Ground
A Nourishing Meal:
I’ve been practising intermittent fasting for many years now. Its benefits include improved metabolism, mental clarity, and enhanced energy levels.
It’s not just used as a way to lose weight successfully, but also a much healthier way to live I believe. Our bodies need a break from processing what we put into them so they can repair what needs to be fixed.
(It’s obviously important to approach this practice mindfully and consult with a healthcare professional if needed to ensure it aligns with your health needs.)
A Simple Practice:
Try starting your day with a 5-minute free-write.
Set a timer and let your thoughts flow onto the page without judgment.
It’s a wonderful way to clear your mind, set intentions, and connect with yourself before the day begins.
Soul: Connection and Reflection
A Book Recommendation:
My book recommendation is one that I wrote to share with others how helpful having a writing practice can be. Unveiling the Art of Writing.
It can sometimes be hard to know where to start but this is a step-by-step simple guide to get you started.
A Meditation:
It seemed appropriate to include my literary meditation in this week’s Monday Muse.
Try it! You’ll think differently about the written word after it, I guarantee :)
Music That Moves Me:
Weightless by Marconi Union is a scientifically crafted piece of music designed to reduce stress and promote deep relaxation, with research showing it can lower anxiety by up to 65%. I’ve found it creates the perfect backdrop for journaling or reflective writing sessions, helping me stay focused and grounded. Perhaps it could inspire you too.
Writing has been my sanctuary, my way of making sense of the chaos and celebrating the beauty of life. Journaling has given me clarity, helped me track my progress, and even allowed me to inspire others by sharing what I’ve learned.
What about you? Do you journal or write in any form? I’d love to know how writing has impacted your life or what tools you’ve found helpful for self-reflection. Let me know in the comments below.
See you next week and have a very happy holidays!
Love Georgia xx

Or
Change your life in just 21 days!
Meditation has made a huge difference in my life. It’s helped me cope with very challenging situations, it helps me find clarity and a feeling of inner peace. It’s a pause, a stillness that I take for myself so I can leave whatever is happening in my outer world alone for a few minutes. I get up off my meditation cushion feeling like I can take on the day!
I’ve realised that there are three keys to living a full life, and one of them leads to the other two. Abundance, Love, and Gratitude. If we take care of gratitude the other two naturally follow.
The challenging issue is that we live such busy lives and don’t always have an hour or two to sit in meditation. So how do we get the benefits from it and easily make time for it?
Two things - shorter meditations and journaling.
Journalling after meditation, even for a couple of minutes, reinforces what we listen to, and the changes we want to make, and it gives clarity of thought.
I’ve created this Mindfulness course with 21 meditations and 21 journal prompts. I have designed it so that you can do both in only 10 minutes a day.
I am so convinced that this is not only doable but will make a big difference in your life that I’m offering a money-back guarantee if at the end of the 21 days, you don’t feel that you’ve brought more Abundance, Love, and Gratitude into your life, you can have a full refund!
(Paying members of The Rebuild Compass automatically get access to this with their subscription)
(Just for full disclosure the links to any books are often Amazon affiliate links)
You can find my meditations on Insight Timer, YouTube and on my podcast!
Your writings are no less than positive reinforcers and encourage me to find that balance by imbibing and embracing the key elements needed. Loved it as always, Georgia.
