How To Belong To Your Life Even When It's Not What You Pictured
I Spent Months In Life's Most Uncomfortable Place — Here's What I Discovered
The Weekly Compass - The In Between
There’s a place that’s uncomfortable, unsure and uncertain. It’s a place I’m sure everyone has been.
It’s the space we come to when we are past ‘what was’ and are not quite yet at ‘what’s next’.
It’s strange and alien.
We’ve closed a chapter but not quite started the next one.
It can feel uncomfortable, uncertain — even lonely.
Here’s what I’ve learned: the in-between isn’t wasted time.
It’s where you shift quietly, where strength is built, and where the letters and words and sentences of your next chapter start to be written.
It is possible to belong to your life right now, even if it’s not yet what you pictured or where you want to be.
You see, you can’t rush it.
This is what I learned, and below are some ways I navigated the uncomfortable in between.
This article is for people who want a short inspirational read at the beginning of the week from someone who has tried all the tools and knows which ones work to change what needs changing in your life.

A Quote to Start the Week
“The moment between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place.” — Barbara De Angelis
This quote reminds me that even when my path wasn’t clear, there was grace in the waiting. I was able to use the waiting period to grow and to learn.
A Simple Practice
Spend 5 minutes today noticing, something beautiful, or comforting, right where you are.
A cup of tea, the light on your walls, a favourite song, a pretty flower.
Let yourself belong here, in this exact moment, without rushing to the next.
Don’t underestimate the peace that is found in being present in the here and now.
A Meditation I’m Sharing
Again make sure to use the journal prompts. This is how to get the most value from your meditation time.
