How I Transformed My Life With Just 5 Minutes Of Daily Action
The Brutal Truth About Personal Growth: Nothing Changes Until You Do This
The Weekly Compass - Action
We can keep reading self help books and follow mentors and coaches, but unless we take action, no matter how small, NOTHING CHANGES!!
It can feel daunting when we want to make changes.
Where do I start?
How can I change my thinking?
Will it always be a struggle?
Where do I find the time?
These are the questions I had. It seemed overwhelming. I wanted the changes to happen straight away, but I realised that it was a process.
I soon realised though, that all I needed to do was make small changes consistently. That way it all added up and had a compounding effect.
For example, instead of being daunted by feeling like I have to meditate for an hour each day, I started with 5 minutes and built it up to 15 or 20. But I did it each day. Even 5 minutes a day over a year is 30 hours.
30 minutes of yoga practised 5 days a week is 130 hours a year.
Imagine deciding to take a short 10-minute walk in nature each day. In a year, you would have spent 60 hours absorbing Mother Nature’s energy.
Imagine how good it is for your mental and physical health to do these things!
Thinking of it like that shows that we don’t always have to make huge changes or take massive action all the time. Just taking some action consistently is how we see huge results.
If we want something badly enough, we can always find the time!
A Quote to Start the Week
“Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot, but make it hot by striking.”
— William Butler Yeats
How often do we hold ourselves back waiting for the perfect time, the perfect plan, or the perfect mindset?
But here’s what I’ve learned: results don’t come before action — they come from it.
Even the smallest step forward has the power to shift your energy and open new possibilities.
A Simple Practice
Pick one small action you’ve been avoiding — and do it before noon.
Sending an email
Taking a walk
Starting a journal
Decluttering one drawer
Don’t aim for perfect. Aim for done.
That feeling of progress will carry you through the day.

This Week’s Compass Reminder:
Without taking action nothing changes. It doesn’t have to be big - it just has to be something! And consistent!
Let me know in the comments:
What’s one small action you’ve decided to commit to this week?
Georgia, This is so spot on. We can stuff so many ideas into our head, but they won't matter much without action. Thanks for making action more doable for us.
So true Georgia. I recall doing Tony Robbins CD set like 20 years ago and he had similar advice. If it works for him then it definitely works for others too. Thanks for the reminder; I'll share a link to this tip in my Wednesday round up newsletter.
