What Letting Go Really Means
This week, I came home ready to reset. Here’s what I’m learning about decluttering, healing, and making space for something new.
"Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness." — Thích Nhất Hạnh
This week, I’ve been thinking about the power of letting go. Getting rid of physical clutter (home, office, car), outdated beliefs (from childhood, school, peers, community), and even relationships that no longer serve us (spouse/partner, friends, relatives).
It’s not always easy. Letting go often takes bravery because it sometimes means stepping into the unknown. It means we have to trust the process and go with the flow, step (jump!) outside our comfort zone.
But when we do clear space, we allow new energy, new opportunities, and new healing to flow in.
Mind: Healing Thoughts
A Quote:
"Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go." — Hermann Hesse
For so long, I believed that strength meant endurance, pushing through, holding on, refusing to let go.
But I’ve learned that real strength isn’t about gripping tightly to what no longer serves me; it’s about having the courage to release it.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. I thought it did, and I wrote about it in the article below.
It means trusting that we don’t have to keep clinging on to what’s familiar to move forward. Whether it’s old stories, relationships, or habits, there is power in surrender.
The moment we release our grip, we often find ourselves lighter, freer, and more open to the life that’s waiting for us.
“This is such a hard thing to decide. How do we know when we have fought enough? How do we decide when to give up and move on? How do we move on and not look back thinking we could have done more?”
What I’m Learning:
As I return from a month away from my home, I feel the pull to reset and simplify.
I’ve realised how easy it is to hold on, whether to habits, thoughts, or even physical things, that no longer align with who I’m becoming.
The process of decluttering, both mentally and physically, isn’t about deprivation; it’s about making room for what truly matters.
Being away has helped me see where I can make some changes. For me, this has meant getting rid of a few things that I no longer like or use and seeing where I can make my environment more conducive to the free flow of energy.
Body: Nourishment for Renewal
Nourishing The Body:
Returning home has made me excited to get back into my routine of cooking nourishing meals from scratch. (While I was away, I ate out a lot and had a very minimal kitchen in the apartment I stayed in.)
It’s been an opportunity to reassess my habits, not with strict rules, but with balance in mind.
What worked for me years ago is not what my body needs now, and that’s okay. Eating well isn’t about perfection; it’s about listening to what feels good and supports my well-being.
A Simple Practice:
Take five minutes today to look at one small area of your home, of your mind, and of your life and ask: Is this still serving me? If not, release it with gratitude.

The Synergy Game by Georgia Clare
Letting go is one of the hardest yet most liberating things we can do, and it's something I explore deeply in The Synergy Game. When my life changed in ways I never expected, I had to release old beliefs, routines, and even relationships that no longer served me. In doing so, I created space for healing, growth, and a new way of living, one built on intention, balance, and trust in the process. This book is about that journey and the tools that helped me navigate it.The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer
A beautiful exploration of releasing inner blocks and finding true freedom.
A Meditation:
Letting go doesn’t always come naturally, but it’s essential for growth. This Letting Go Meditation has been a powerful tool for me when I need to release what’s weighing me down. Listen here or click on the picture below.
